There are three different mechanisms by which bb guns are fired. In other words a BB gun is powered by three ways and on the basis of this system they are called, electric powered BB gun, spring powered BB gun and gas powered BB gun. Spring powered BB guns have their own qualities. They are single shot equipments that use potential energy compressed in a spring. It compresses air to propel pellet down the barrel of the BB gun. A user is supposed to cock a spring powered BB gun before each shot. Spring powered bb guns are neither fully automatic nor semi automatic. These guns are not as powerful as electric powered bb guns or gas powered guns. But it cannot be said about all the spring powered guns. Some sniper and shotguns are very powerful. They can shoot at the speed of 400-1000 FPS. Spring powered guns are not as expensive as electric powered guns and it is very easy to get these guns. These guns are not durable due to the spring attached to them as springs have limited life.
