The regulatory structure of United Kingdom is extremely well defined and simple as far as BB guns are concerned. Anyone involved in airsoft skirmishing must be particularly aware of these regulations. People are allowed to carry and possess BB gun provided that they meet some conditions.
The keystone of UK regulations is the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003. According to this act, any person can possess a replica of a weapon in public provided that he has a good reason to do so. Generally, the gun must be concealed in a hard case or a sealed container. Carrying a gun in full public view might invite trouble.
Also note that following the Violent Crimes Reduction Act 2006 coming in force on October 1, 2007, there is a straight ban on sale, import and production of any Realistic Imitation Firearm. Since BB guns fall under the category of Unrealistic Imitation Firearms, they can not measure more than 70 mm in length and 38 mm in height.
Further, more than 50% of the BB gun must be made of bright red, orange, pink, blue, green, yellow or purple.
